HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!
How's your angbao intake?
Mine was pretty good, considering I only went for 2 visits. One at my grandma's house, one at my auntie's house.
3 Steamboats & 2 Louheis later, my stomach was bloated than ever. It's no wonder people become so "round" after holidays. They just can't stop eating.
Anyhow, if you have the ability and money to eat, then eat all you want because you should be lucky that you don't have to save food! But please don't stuff yourself until you practically feel like throwing up because that's not the way to keep yourself healthy and fit.
People always say, "Finish everything up, every bit of your rice. So many people in the LDCs are left with insufficient food for survival and yet you are wasting food here!" But sometimes, it's wrong to force someone to eat if he/she is already so bloated they feel like vomiting on you.
How could they compare themselves with people from the LDCs? I know, the world is unfair. It is sucha sad reality. Nothing is fair. Nor is having the money to eat or not fair. Since you are born in the more developed countries and have so many delicious delicacies to eat, count yourself lucky and enjoy them. What for make yourself suffer, eating more food than your stomach can take? If you actually still think you're wasting too much food, then...order less food la! If not, what's the use of saying, "Finish everything up, every bit of your rice. So many people in the LDCs are left with insufficient food for survival and yet you are wasting food here!", when whatever it is, a "sparkling" clean plate or a plate filled with leftovers, the food will still be thrown away? Otherwise, you go collect all the leftovers and deliver them to these poor people? What difference would saving that little amount of food make? I know right, a little leftovers from a plate + a little more leftovers from another plate + all the leftovers from other plates = a truckload full of food. But hello, by the time the food travels to that particular country, some of them would already become unsuitable for eating already, want them to fall ill? So, forget it. If you really want to save that little amount of food, then just buy those non-perishable food you see in supermarkets and send them over to help these people instead of doing nothing about it and continue telling others off for wasting their food.
